Funding Options
You may qualify for funding towards
your hearing aids

There are several funding options available to help offset the price of Hearing Aids and other Assistive Devices in Ontario. At Kowalski Hearing Solutions, we will guide you through every step of this process and help you work with the applicable government agencies.
Ontario’s Assistive Devices Program
The Ontario Ministry of Health’s Assistive Devices Program (ADP) will pay a portion of the cost of hearing aids for all Ontario residents with a valid Health Card (OHIP) who need them. Currently, a provincial grant is available for both left and right hearing aids.
The Assistive Devices Program helps to cover the cost of hearing aids that are a) behind the ear, b) in the ear, c) partially in the ear canal or d) completely in the ear canal. ADP may also help to cover the cost of FM systems, which is a receiver that transmits audio to your hearing aids and allows users to hear sounds and voices at an appropriate intensity level.
For more information, please visit the Ministry of Health website.
Amount covered
ADP covers 75% of the cost of up to the following maximums:
- Hearing aids up to a maximum amount of $500 for each type of aid
- FM systems up to a maximum of $1,350
The client pays the remainder of the cost.
Kowalski Hearing Solutions will provide you with the ADP form and submit on your behalf. The ADP portion will be subtracted from your invoice so you do not have to wait for any reimbursement.
Veterans Affairs Canada
Many of our patients are veterans and we routinely deal with Veterans Affairs Canada. Whether you are looking for coverage for the first time, require servicing on existing hearing aids, or need to replace current hearing aids, we have all the necessary forms to submit for direct payment or approval. Kowalski Hearing Solutions follows the fee guide from Veterans Affairs and recommends hearing aids and devices approved so you are not out of pocket.
For more information, please visit the Veterans Affairs Canada website.
Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (Ontario)
We are registered with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Program of Care for hearing aids and hearing loss. We have access to all of the latest hearing aids and devices and bill WSIB directly so that you will never have to pay out of pocket charges.
Clients who experience hearing loss and have worked in a noisy environment at some point during their career can visit our clinic and take a hearing test. If the pattern is consistent with noise exposure, we can help you with the process of starting a noise induced hearing loss claim.
For more information, please visit the WSIB website.
Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
Kowalski Hearing Solutions is registered with the ODSP program, which offers hearing benefits to qualified clients. This program covers those under the ODSP, MCSS and ACSD categories.
Those who are receiving Ontario Disability Support Program Income Support may qualify for help with your hearing aids and mobility devices. Examples include hearing aids, alerting systems (such as light flashers or visual alarms), hearing aid repairs, protective earplugs, and battery replacement.
